Introduction

DTIWS will be approving a limited number of Poster Presentations for display at the Digital Transformation & Innovation World Summit December 13-17, 2021 at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld®

Presenters will need to be available to discuss their Poster Presentation at the evening Welcome Reception on March 24, and on both days of the main summit, March 25 & March 26, 2020 during the morning and afternoon refreshment breaks.

This is an excellent method to gain recognition for your continuous improvement initiatives, at the largest networking event of the year for practitioners, leading experts and senior executives involved with achieving Operational Excellence.

Poster Presentation will be approximately 40" wide and 40" high (inches).

In order to be considered, please click here to submit an abstract of your presentation proposal.

Submitted applications will be reviewed by the Poster Review Board and acceptance decisions usually take up to 7 days. Once accepted, you simply need to produce and print your poster and bring it with you to the event, or if you wish you can ship it to the event office, no earlier than 3 working days prior to the event date of March 24, 2020. 

There is no deadline to applybut it is subject to availability, due to limited spaces. Once full, a notice will be posted on this page. Please note, the attendance discounts do change, as detailed below. 

Award Shortlist Posters

If you have entered into the Awards Program, you do not need to fill in this application to submit a Poster Presentation. This process is not for award program entrants. If you are shortlisted as a finalist in the awards program, part of your process would be to produce a Poster Presentation, but you do not need to fill in this application on this page. The Contents

Below is just a guideline. You do not need to follow this. These tend to be the most effective posters. Content should always be kept concise:

  • Strong Project Title.
  • Succinct Introduction – Define the Purpose.
  • What did you set out to achieve?
  • What were the outcomes of the project?
  • What were the results?
  • What went wrong?
  • What went right?

How To Apply

In order to be considered, please click here to submit an abstract of your presentation proposal.

Abstracts should be up to 250 words in length, outlining the project covered. We recommend you submit your abstracts ASAP, as we have limited display sections, and display positions can go months before the event date.

All applicants will be informed if their Poster Presentation has been accepted within 7 days of receipt.

Accepted Poster Presentations

Accepted poster presenters receive a 25% discount off the full registration price to attend the summit, and a prize will be presented to the top 3 winning poster presentations at the event. 
 
Once your submission has been approved, which can take up to 5 days, you will recieve an email with details of how to register and logistics information. 

Logistics

PREPARATION PRE ATTENDANCE

Once you have produced your poster(s), please submit an image(s) by clicking here
However, you will need to print your own Posters, and bring or ship them to the summit. The posters must be brought rolled up in a cylinder, not mounted on a board. Please pin your Poster Presentation to one of the allocated Poster Boards.

AT THE SUMMIT

When attending the summit, please pin your Poster Presentation to one of the allocated Poster Boards. The earlier the better, they should be available from Tuesday morning.  
 
Presenters should be available to discuss their Poster Presentation(s) at the evening Welcome Reception on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 in the Tuscan Ballroom at 6.15pm, and on both days of the main summit on Wednesday & Thursday, March 25-26, during the morning and afternoon refreshment breaks. This is an excellent method to gain recognition for your continuous improvement initiatives.  But, you do not need to make a formal presentation, or bring any electronic equipment, just print and bring your poster with you in a cylinder, and that will be pinned to the foam poster boards at the event. 
 
You may tear down your Poster Presentations after the afternoon break, on Thursday, March 26, the final day of the main summit. 

SHIPPING DETAILS

If you do not want to carry your Poster Presentation on the flight, you can ship it to the hotel. Please send them NO EARLIER THAN 5 DAYS IN ADVANCE. Mark the parcel BTOES, and then the hotel address which can be found here https://btoes.com/venue

The hotel may charge a handling fee for packages coming into and out of the hotel.  Charges are based on package size and weight and can be charged to your hotel room. 

Award for Best Poster

There will be a judging panel on-site on December 14-15, visiting each Poster Presentation. On December 16, "The Best Poster Presentations" will be announced and prize(s) will be awarded. See the agenda for the precise time slot and an indication of prizes. 

The judging criteria will be based on: -

  1. Originality of Project
  2. Aesthetics- Visually Appealing
  3. Creativity of Poster
  4. Value to Reader
  5. Clear Problem- Solution- Goal, and Outcome
  6. Results

Biography

José Pires serves as the Global Excellence & Innovation (E&I) Leader for Andeavor Corporation, where he oversees the global identification, prioritization and execution of mission critical business improvements and innovations that add value to the company, business partners and external clients in multiple markets.

Prior to his current role, Pires held Excellence and Innovation leadership positions in large, global companies in the electronics (Sony), semiconductor (Cymer-ASML), food (Nestlé) and infrastructure (Black & Veatch) industries. Throughout his career, Pires developed and refined E&I as an award winning program for innovation, leadership development, strategy execution and value creation globally.

Pires is an advisory board leader and keynote speaker for several global conferences on innovation, operational excellence, leadership development, strategy execution, business transformation, customer engagement and growth acceleration.

He holds a Bachelor in Engineering Physics from the University of Kansas and a Master in Business Administration focused in Investment Banking and Entrepreneurship from the University of San Diego.

Biography

Matt is a customer focused change and thought leader with expansive leadership experience in R&D, Production Operations, IT and Corporate functions within thriving industries that include Medical Device, Biotechnology, Health Care and Big Utility with Nuclear Power Generation. Strategic planning leading to transformational delivery excellence for sustainable enterprise operations has been a key theme in his career.

Since his 2017 arrival to Becton-Dickinson, Matt’s program management, business process improvement, systems integration and performance measurement expertise have played a major role in driving much-needed change in Medical Management Systems (MMS). Supply Chain Operations playbook development for Plan-2-Deliver and Procure-2-Pay, Sales & Operating Process (S&OP) optimization for greater demand visibility and accurate fulfillment, and solidification of the current supplier engagement model for enhanced supplier quality performance and minimize disruption to MMS production output have been key efforts in Matt’s charter.

From a strategic perspective, Matt has a unique grasp of long range Strategic Planning, Transformation Playbook Development and Balanced Scorecard Methodology for cascading of business goals and monitoring of world-class business operations. As a tactical change agent, he brings exceptional PMO operations skills and a highly polished understanding of the critical alignment between people, processes and enabling technology. Through application of rigorous project management frameworks like Agile and Lean Six Sigma, he has enjoyed distinctive success with introduction, socialization and sustained adoption of Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement business models in every functional work area (R&D, MFG, Supply Chain, IT, Finance and HR/Legal) and in support of diverse regulated corporate cultures in companies like BD, Motorola, Genentech, Kaiser Permanente, SoCal Edison and Pacific Gas & Electric. 
 
Matt earned his bachelors with honors in Organizational Leadership. He is PMP and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified and is a member of the Project Management Institute, American Society for Quality and Association of Manufacturing Excellence. He is an experienced trainer for Corporate Leadership, Business Management, Operational Excellence, and Continuous Improvement. He is a Certified Toastmaster.
